Feel Confident and Prepared Before Baby Arrives

Breastfeeding is natural, but that doesn’t mean it always comes naturally. Preparing before your baby arrives can help you understand what to expect, recognize when feeding is going well, and know where to turn if you need extra support.

Brave Breastfeeding’s prenatal breastfeeding classes provide practical, evidence-based education in a welcoming environment. Led by Becky, an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), these classes are designed to help expecting parents feel informed, prepared, and confident as they begin their feeding journey.

Whether you’re planning to exclusively breastfeed, pump, combine breast and bottle feeding, or simply want to learn more about your options, you’re welcome here.

What You'll Learn

Our prenatal breastfeeding classes helps you prepare for the first hours, days, and weeks with your baby. Topics include:

  • How breastfeeding and milk production work
  • What to expect when your baby is first born
  • Latching and positioning basics
  • How to tell if your baby is getting enough milk
  • Common breastfeeding challenges and when to ask for help
  • Pumping and breast pump basics
  • Helpful breastfeeding supplies
  • Preparing for feeding after you leave the hospital
  • Ways partners and support people can help

When Should I Take a Breastfeeding Class?

Most families attend a prenatal breastfeeding class during the second or third trimester. Taking a class before delivery gives you time to learn, ask questions, and feel more prepared without trying to absorb brand-new information while also caring for a newborn.

Partners and support people are encouraged to attend. Breastfeeding may happen between parent and baby, but having someone else who understands the basics can make a big difference during those early days.

Classes are offered across 2 sessions or 1 session. Learn more below.
