Pumping & Flange Fitting

Solving Your Pumping & Flange Sizing Pain Points

Lactation Consultant providing pumping support and flange sizing in Southwest Wisconsin and Dubuque.

Standard pump boxes come with 24mm flanges, but the vast majority of lactating parents need a much smaller size. Incorrect sizing causes tissue damage, decreases milk output, and turns pumping into a painful chore. If pumping feels painful or inefficient, you may be using the wrong flange size. We’ll help you find the right fit and teach you techniques to make pumping smoother, easier, and less cumbersome.

When a Flange Fitting is Needed

  1.  Nipple Damage and Pain Relief: Pinching, friction, and bleeding are clear signals of incorrect flange sizing or improper suction settings. Professional fitting eliminates mechanical friction, restoring physical comfort.
  2. Milk Supply and Extraction Efficiency: An ill-fitting flange prevents full breast emptying, which can lead to clogged ducts, mastitis, or a drop in milk production. Correct sizing ensures optimal milk output and supply maintenance.
  3. Workplace and Transition Planning: Tailored sessions review pump settings, assembly, and efficient pumping schedules to simplify the transition.
  4. Comprehensive Equipment Education: Unsure how to operate a specific pump model or optimize its settings? Hands-on instruction covers cycle speed, vacuum adjustments, and proper part hygiene.
